So I have a rather large laurel bush on my property that effectively serves as a fence between my yard and my neighbors. They mentioned something about the hedge messing up their “standing view” or something like that. I told them they could cut it. Obviously it’s my fault when the hedge was cut way too short for my liking (I didn’t give them any specifics). Basically comes up to their elevated deck. I went from having full privacy to absolutely zero privacy. I’m not pissed off or anything but I think we aren’t going to be friends after they find out that I’m growing it back. Anyway, what are the rules regarding who trims the hedge in the future? It makes sense that they could trim anything hanging over their property but am I obligated to trim their side? Can I grow it as high as I want? Just looking for some basic rules or laws in terms of the property line. Thanks.
