Easy-to-Make Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

I love Autumn and the cooler weather season because it brings in a relaxing feeling and a cozy atmosphere. While here in Miami there are no freezing temperatures, that doesn’t mean we don’t get to enjoy the pleasures of the seasons to come. I really love spending time sitting outside and grasping those warm breezes either on my patio or at a coffee shop. Although the fall season hasn’t officially started yet — and while I wait for those low 60 degrees — I’ll make myself a nice cup of the season’s favorite drink: Pumpkin spice latte. It’s so simple to prepare.

I’ve found a nice recipe and made a couple of changes to adapt it to my liking. It was very easy to make and only took a few minutes.

Pour 2 tablespoons of organic canned pumpkin into a small microwave proof container. Add 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice and a dash of black pepper, mix.

Put in the microwave for 30 seconds and mix again with a whisk.

Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Mix once again and place in the microwave for 30 seconds more until it has a syrupy consistency.

In another container, froth 1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla (you can use more if you like).

Prepare 1 to 2 shots of espresso, depending on how strong you like your coffee (in mine I used 2) and add the mix of pumpkin (roughly 3 tablespoons), mix together.

Pour the frothed milk into the cup, top with some whipped cream and dust with some more pumpkin spice — you’re done!

I like adding a fall touch to this cup with some basic sugar cookies in the forms of leaves or pumpkins.
