I live just outside of New Orleans. Have this clay soil. The front lawn faces east and gets sun most of the day. We have Bermuda grass right now (or maybe centipede), and it’s the worst.
I’m thinking of getting empire zoysia, but am unsure how it will grow in this kind of soil. I can’t find plugs, but found a place that can deliver patches.
Since I live in New Orleans, what’s the latest time of year I can plant the empire? How should I prepare the soil ahead of time?
